Starlights
The Starlights room at Little Treasures Day Nursery & Preschool offers a vibrant and nurturing environment for preschoolers aged 3 to 4. Designed to prepare children for their transition to primary school, this space follows the early years curriculum while introducing essential skills in phonics, sounds, and mathematics. With a maximum of 30 children, each individual is assigned their own clothes peg which fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility. The Starlights room features a gorgeous separate garden, complete with climbing equipment, sandpits, and cars, and provides an ideal setting for children to expend their energy. The garden is free-flow and accessible all year round, allowing children to engage in active play and exploration in a safe and stimulating environment. Staff prioritise the well-being of the children by providing a nurturing environment that fosters emotional security while actively encouraging their curiosity and love for learning.
Activities follow a planned curriculum to meet the developmental milestones of the Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS). Although these activities are planned in advance, this is subject to change as we follow the child led play guidance. This means that the children are free to lead their own play. Each activity is adapted to meet the needs and ability of each individual child and supported or extended accordingly. We also use the ‘In The Moment Planning’ method allowing the children to explore their imagination and boost their self-confidence by having their ideas and interests listened to and included in our play.
